Who are we?

Tree Planting

Welcome to ACCHomes - founded by two doctors who were inspired to make a difference by drawing on their medical experience and first hand knowledge of the challenges young people face in social care, they created a nurturing environment and a safe haven for those in need.

The first home, Ashwood House, gave rise to the name

"Ashwood Children's Care Homes"

Each subsequent home is named after a type of wood, symbolizing the protection and sanctuary that trees provide—values that are central to ACCHomes' mission and ethos. All homes are Rated Good in recent Ofsted inspections with exception to Ashwood  House receiving an Outstanding.

What do we do?

At ACC Homes, we understand that life can be challenging, and that children are often victims of circumstances beyond their control. We believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing home where they can heal, grow, and thrive. Our approach is rooted in a PACE-centred environment, focusing on Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy to ensure that each child feels heard, valued, and supported—mind, body, and spirit. We take the time to listen to the unique needs of every child, ensuring that our care is tailored to what works best for them.

At ACC Homes, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We have six dedicated Designated Safeguarding Officers (DSOs) to ensure that there is always a trained professional available, regardless of when a concern arises. All of our staff members are trained to follow our robust safeguarding policy, which is regularly reviewed and updated. Additionally, we adhere to strict Safer Recruitment practices to ensure that those who join our team are not only qualified but also fully aligned with our safeguarding ethos.

We are a company that believes words matter—how we communicate is important, not only within our team but also in how we speak to and about the children in our care. As a trauma-informed organization, we use language that is supportive, respectful, and appropriate, understanding that the right words can make a meaningful difference in a child’s healing journey.

At ACC Homes, we are more than just a place of care—we are a family. We celebrate the joys and milestones of life together, including holidays, birthdays, festivals, and other significant moments in the children’s lives. This creates a sense of belonging and security, helping each child feel valued and cherished.
