ACC Homes (Ashwood Children's Care Homes) is proud to operate five residential care homes, with the capacity to accommodate up to 16 children. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment where both children and staff are supported in their growth.

All of our homes—Ashwood, Alderwood, Applewood, Amberwood and Aspen House—are specifically designed to support children experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. These homes offer a stable, therapeutic environment where children can work through challenges and develop the skills they need for a brighter future.​

We are immensely proud to have supported over 20 children into foster care/home/semi independent living, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Every day, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of the children we care for, providing them with the stability, love, and opportunities they need to build a brighter future. All homes are Rated Good in most recent ofsted inspections with exception to Ashwood House which has received an Outstanding.
Our Homes
Ashwood House
Ashwood House has been a cornerstone of ACC Homes since its establishment in 2017. With a "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted, Ashwood House has consistently demonstrated its commitment to providing exceptional care and support for children. This rating, held for over four and a half years, is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team and then again recently in February 2026 Ofsted inspection achieved an Outstanding again. Located in a charming detached Victorian house, Ashwood House offers a warm, homely environment where children feel safe and valued.
ALDERwood House
Alderwood House, which opened in December 2019 and is rated Good, is a detached two-story home featuring four bedrooms, a staff bedroom, a sensory/therapy room, an office, a living room, a dining room, a conservatory, and an outhouse. The property also includes an enclosed garden and three bathrooms, along with an additional WC.
AMBERWOOD House
Amberwood House opened in April 2022 and is the largest of our three original homes. This detached two-storey house is designed to provide ample space and flexibility, making it an ideal environment for children to thrive, heal, and grow. Set in a rural suburban area of South Derbyshire, offering a peaceful and secure environment. The property features a large garden and a driveway, providing ample parking space for staff and visitors. It has received a consistently Good rating, last in March 2026.
APPLEWOOD House
Applewood House is a detached two-bedroom bungalow located in a peaceful cul-de-sac, with wheelchair access available if needed. The property features a tranquil garden and offers a spacious interior with large rooms and soft, serene lighting. It includes a staff bedroom, two en-suite children's bedrooms, and a separate main bathroom. The modern kitchen is accompanied by a dining area, and there is also a dedicated therapy room. The property provides ample parking space on the driveway, accommodating up to four cars. The home received a Rated Good outcome January 2026.
Aspen House
Aspen House is a 2-bedded residence that opened in 2025. Located at the end of a tranquil cul-de-sac, this home offers a spacious garden, elegant dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, therapy room and two well-appointed bathrooms. Children will appreciate the proximity to a lovely park, accessible a minute's walk, as well as the convenience of ample parking available on the driveway. It has received a Good rating from Ofsted February 2026.
